The Overview
Lena’s Cakes is a home-based bakery located in Alabama, specializing in homemade cakes and cupcakes. The goal of this project was to create a soft, feminine logo that reflects the beauty and care put into each dessert while remaining clean and versatile for everyday business use.
The Vision
The direction for this brand was centered around femininity, elegance, and warmth. The client wanted something that felt beautiful and personal, while still being simple enough to use across packaging and branding materials.
It was important that the design reflected her personality and the quality of her work, creating a visual identity that feels just as thoughtful as the cakes she creates.
The Design Approach
I began by working with the client’s chosen color palette, using soft pink gradient to establish a warm and inviting tone.
From there, I created a custom calligraphy-style script for “Lena’s” to give the logo a feminine and handcrafted feel. To balance the softness of the script, I paired it with a clean, all-caps sans serif font for “CAKES,” adding structure and readability.
To tie the concept together, I incorporated a whisk icon above the text as a subtle nod to baking. The whisk handle carries the same gradient as the “Lena’s” lettering, while the remaining elements are kept in a thin black to maintain contrast and versatility.
The Results
The final logo feels soft, elegant, and true to the brand’s identity. It translates seamlessly across different applications, from cake boxes to travel baking bags, while maintaining clarity and visual appeal.
This project highlights how combining feminine design elements with clean structure can create a brand that feels both personal and professional.
